Part 13 of NMREC Rules for all licensees:
- 30 credit hours required per 3 year licensing cycle
- 8 hours Mandatory Course Required, plus 22 elective CE
- Maximum of 10 credit hours may be from ‘Training’ courses
- Minimum of 12 credit hours must be from ‘Education’ courses [all 22 OK]
- Maximum credit hours per course = 10
- 90% attendance required for CE courses, except 30 hour pre-license for CE
- Attendance at Commission Meeting or Rules/Disciplinary Hearing: up to 4 ‘Education’
- CE Credit Hours may NOT be carried forward to next cycle
- New cycle starts the day after your license expiration date
- CE courses available on-line, computer disk, and by correspondence
- Pre-Approval of other courses: apply to Education Director
First Renewal Cycle Licensees who were licensed as Associate Brokers for the first time on or after January 1, 2009 must complete a 30 hour post licensing course before renewing their license the first time (i.e. during the first 3 years). Note: NMREC encourages these licensees to take this course as soon after licensing as possible. This course focuses on ‘how to be an associate broker’. This new course will not be available until January, 2010.

- Brokerage Office Administration Course - Course #419 (30 classroom hours, 10 CE Education credits). This course is required for anyone to become a Qualifying Broker.
- Qualifying Broker Refresher Course - Course #2 (0 Education CE credits). This course is NOW required of all license renewing Qualifying Brokers for each renewal cycle after 1/1/2006.
